HOT DOG RELISH

Ingredients
  • 2 c. onions (approsimately 2½ large)
  • 4 c. green tomatoes(8 medium)
  • 4 cups. cabbage (1/2 large head)
  • 3 cups red and green bell peppers (approximately 4 green and 2 red)
  • ⅓ cup. salt
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 2 cups vinegar
  • 1 cup water
  • ½ tsp. celery seed
  • 1 Tbs. mustard seed
  • ½ tsp turmeric
Instructions
  1. Grind onions, green tomatoes, cabbage, red and green bell peppers coarsely.
  2. Sprinkle with salt let stand over night.
  3. Rinse and drain.
  4. Combine remaining ingredients. Simmer 3 minutes.
  5. Place in jars and seal.
