CHILI CON CARNE DE CARMEN

Ingredients
  • 1 lb pinto beans
  • 1 lb. hamburger
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 large onion
  • 2 Tbsp. shortening
  • 3 Tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 can tomato sauce
Instructions
  1. Soak pinto beans over night to soften.
  2. Cook slowly in the same water for 4 to 6 hours.
  3. Brown hamburger , garlic, onion, in the shortening.
  4. Add remaining ingredients and add to the beans.
  5. Simmer 30 minutes.
  6. Serve with crackers
